Risk Factors
These people are at higher risk for contracting Community-Associated MRSA:

- Young people who are more susceptible to pneumonia.

- People who play contact sports.

- Those who share towels and athletic equipment.

- People with weakened immune systems.

- People lived in crowded, unsanitary conditions: i.e., prisons, army camps, etc.

- Those in association with health care workers.

For Hospital-Acquired MRSA, the people who are at highest risk are those who were recently hospitalized or who live in close-contact, long-term facilities such as nursing homes.
